In one line. 80x moved a corporate venture firm off Affinity and onto Attio, transferring ~55,000 records across six seats before a fixed Affinity access deadline, then restructured the deal object and migrated a 1.6GB file package.

Client & context

A corporate venture firm ran deal flow on Affinity (Advanced plan) across a six-person team. One of its core lists tracked key contacts across the fund's corporate-parent ecosystem. The firm needed to be fully on Attio before its Affinity access lapsed on December 18, which set the timeline.

The problem

Everything of value had to land in Attio before the deadline: the live pipeline, the ecosystem contact list, an interaction-tracking list, thousands of notes, reminders, and manually enriched fields, with no data loss and minimal disruption. The migration ran on temporary credentials within the team's existing seats.

What we built

  • Full migration of the pipeline, ecosystem and interaction-tracking lists into Attio.
  • CSV exports of the legacy LP, portfolio and investor-relations lists, kept as reference.
  • Notes migration, forward-facing reminders (recurring reminders converted to Attio tasks), and enriched plus global custom attributes.
  • A deal-object restructure: a primary Deal Owner, a renamed "Deal Team" for secondary owners, investment stage moved onto the deals object, and funding round converted to a single-select.
  • A "too early" workflow, passing on a company at its current round auto-creates a future-round deal in tracking status with a reminder date, keeping the live pipeline clean.
  • A 1.6GB files migration via Google Drive, with a Zapier workflow linking Drive folders to Attio deals by ID.

How we did it

Migration ran a full transfer of the entire estate in week one, then trimmed to the team's preferences in a cleanup window. Attio has no direct file-upload API, so files were exported to Google Drive, organized by deal and company with Affinity IDs, then linked back into Attio deals via Zapier. A Slack Connect channel carried onboarding and cleanup.

Outcome

~55,000 records across six seats were repointed to Attio ahead of the fixed access deadline, along with three live lists, notes, reminders, and a 1.6GB file package handled through a Google Drive + Zapier workflow, and the deal object was restructured for a cleaner live pipeline.

Takeaway: A corporate VC's full Affinity estate, ~55k records, three live lists, notes, reminders and 1.6GB of files, moved to Attio against a fixed access deadline.
