In one line. We restructured a SaaS startup's Attio from company-level to deal-level, migrating 211 company records into the deals object and building a one-click deal-creation workflow in the same session.
Client & context
The client is an AI deal-sourcing platform for private equity and early-stage venture funds, covering company identification, outreach automation, and a data room, and integrating with CRMs such as Affinity and DealCloud. The founders were running their own Attio, but had set it up around companies rather than deals.
The problem
The CRM tracked everything at the company level rather than as deals or opportunities, which doesn't map cleanly to how a pipeline moves. There were 211 company records to bring into a proper deals object, a pipeline of 15+ stages, and an external outbound team generating 4,000 leads a month that wasn't yet wired into Attio.
What we built
- Migration of 211 company pipeline records into the Attio deals object.
- A one-click deal-creation workflow from company records.
- The existing 15+ stage structure preserved through the migration.
- A basic deal pipeline framework, with ongoing setup support over Slack.
How we did it
The company pipeline data was moved into the deals object in-session, consuming roughly 1,400 automation credits, with the existing stages kept intact so nothing broke on the way over. The one-click workflow lets the team spin up a deal straight from a company record. Follow-on items, reordering and simplifying the stages, a Cal.com integration to auto-create deals from bookings, and a deal-assignment workflow across the team, were set up to carry forward with support over Slack.
Outcome
211 records were migrated and the deal-level restructure was completed in the session on roughly 1,400 automation credits, with the 15+ stage structure preserved. Ongoing setup support, stage simplification and the Cal.com booking integration, continued over Slack.
Takeaway: 211 company records restructured into Attio's deals object with one-click deal creation, built in a single session on ~1,400 automation credits.
