In one line. We migrated a European venture firm's 38,000 people and three working lists from Affinity to Attio for a €1,500 fixed fee, then set up GP attribution in a post-migration catch-up.

Client & context

The firm ran its CRM on Affinity and wanted to move to Attio, starting with two seats and room to grow to five or six. Affinity access was set to end in early September, which fixed the timeline.

The problem

Everything sat in Affinity: 38,000 people and three lists, IR deals, the VC network, and a ~4,600-person PR list. Attio's import matches against the full dataset rather than subsets, so all 38,000 people had to move together, with the PR list tagged inside the full set rather than migrated separately. The firm opted for a lean scope focused on the core data, which kept the fee down.

What we built

  • Migration of 38,000 people plus the three lists (IR deals, VC network, and the ~4,600-person PR list), with PR tagged within the full dataset.
  • Deal-team GP attribution set up as a multi-select, semicolon-separated attribute so deals can hold multiple GP names.
  • Backup CSVs of all organizations and people, shared in Google Drive as a reference set.
  • Text columns in Attio for manual team and contact reference.

How we did it

The work was sequenced around the team's travel, prep in one week, the migration the next, and support through early September. We converted the deal-team GP attribute to multi-select with semicolon separation so deals with multiple GPs were captured correctly, and provided Google Drive CSV backups of all organizations and people as the reference set for any manual reconnection.

Outcome

38,000 people and three lists were migrated onto Attio for a €1,500 fixed fee, with a lean scope that saved €500. GP attribution was set up as multi-select, and full CSV backups of all organizations and people were provided as a reference set. Post-migration support ran into early September.

Takeaway: 38,000 people and three lists moved to Attio for a €1,500 fixed fee, with multi-select GP attribution and full CSV backups provided as reference.
