Request access to Backchannel

WhatsApp and LinkedIn in one native window — with the cockpit, command palette, CRM sync, and relationship insights. Backchannel is invite-only while we onboard new teams in waves. Request access and we'll set you up.

Request access

macOS 26 or later · Apple Silicon or Intel · invite-only

Once you're in: install in 3 steps

When your access is granted you'll get the build from your account and a welcome email. Backchannel is a direct download (not the Mac App Store), so the first launch needs a quick one-time approval. After that it's a normal double-click.

1
Open the downloaded 80x.dmg and drag 80x into your Applications folder.
2
Double-click 80x. macOS will say it “could not be verified”— that's expected for a direct download. Click Done (not “Move to Trash”), then open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to “80x was blocked”, and click Open Anyway. Confirm with Touch ID.
3
80x opens to WhatsApp Web — scan the QR with your phone and you're in. Switch to LinkedIn anytime with ⌘2 (sign in once) and flip back with ⌘1. Every launch after this is just a double-click.
Comfortable in Terminal? Skip the prompt entirely:xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/80x.app

Then make it yours

Connect your CRM. In Settings, add your Attio or Affinity key to sync chats to the right record.

Go Pro when ready. CRM sync and insights are Pro — see pricing. You'll get a license key by email; paste it in Settings → License to unlock.
